Grigoris Vasileiadis

Grigoris Vasileiadis, born in Thessaloniki in 1995, received lessons in clarinet at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki with Paula Smith and Barbara Venetikidou from the age of 14. In 2011 he graduated from the conservatory. He then did his Barchelor at the University of Macedonia Thessaloniki in the class of Professor Miltos Moumoulidis. In 2020, he completed his Master of Music with Professor Ralph Manno at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, followed by his concert exam. He is now studying at the Orchesterzentrum NRW. He participated in various master classes and received lessons from renowned clarinettists such as Sabine Meyer, Johannes Zurl, Spyros Mourikis, Antonio Salguero, Richard Vielle, Reiner Wehle, Martin Spangenberg and George Zeretze.
He has been successful several times in competitions in his home country Greece, as well as in international competitions. Here to mention are: Apollo International Music Competition (2nd prize), Gina Bachauer Scholarship Competition (1st prize), Clarinet Competition "Saverio Mercadante" in Bari, Italy (3rd prize); Performance and Chamber Music Competition of the Department of Music Science and Art (1st prizes) & Clarinet Competition of the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne (1st prize).
As a soloist he has played with orchestras abroad such as the Athens State Orchestra and the Municipal Orchestra of Thessaloniki, the Thessaloniki Youth Symphony Orchestra and the University Symphony Orchestra of Kutztown\Pennsylvania\USA.
In addition to his solo activities, he has worked as a substitute with the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the WDR Symphony Orchestra and the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra. He is currently employed by the Niederrheinische Symphoniker in Mönchengladbach.
In 2022 he reserved the Dörken Scholarship as a Soloist and during the year 2023 he will perfoming in concerts across Germany.
